As many as 2,000 construction and engineering jobs could be created as plans to build a new housing estate and business park in Nottingham look set to go ahead.
Under the plans, the Hucknall part of the city, which is home to the Rolls Royce factory, will benefit from significant redevelopment over the coming few years.
In addition to 900 new homes, the scheme will also see the construction of a business park, with the luxury car maker believed to be interested in expanding its operations there, as well as a primary school.
Furthermore, the new Hucknall development will also benefit from a new access road, connecting the area to the bypass leading to the city centre, further driving economic development and creating numerous new jobs.
Confirming that the project is now ready to launch, Dan Needham, development director at Muse, which is behind the scheme, told the Nottingham Post that businesses and manufacturers are already keen to make use of the new facilities.
"We've received many enquiries about the park already and we are confident occupiers will be attracted by the potential Harrier Park offers for economic growth, both regionally and nationally."
This comes as construction firms in the Midlands also benefit from another new project, a Midland Metro tram extension serving the railway and bus interchange in Wolverhampton.
