Galliard has been awarded the contract to carry out construction work on the Islington Square development in north London, it has been confirmed.
The company has been awarded the contract to demolish the existing blocks and start work on the new ones by developer Sager, with the project set to be completed by the end of 2017, Construction Enquirer reports.
Chief executive of Sager Group Giris Rabinovitch said: "There is a lot of activity on site, day to day you can see real progression within the scheme - it is all very exciting and we are on schedule for completion for October/November 2017."
The site covers 4.5 acres behind Upper Street in Islington and when completed it will include 263 residential apartments, 108 service apartments and 170,000 sq ft of restaurants and luxury retailers, alongside a health club and cinema.
It will be located close to many of the attractions and amenities of the borough, with the Emirates' Stadium just five minutes away by public transport and the Highbury & Islington and Angel Tube stations ten minutes away on foot.
