Construction firm Taylor Wimpey has revealed an increase in the number of homes it completed in 2015.
Its tally of 13,341 was seven per cent higher than in 2014, while the order book of 7,484 at the end of the year was 13 per cent higher than at the end of 2014.
The development is good news for those seeking jobs in the construction industry as it confirms an upward trend in building, helping to create more vacancies.
Last week, Persimmon confirmed it had increased its building completion tally by eight per cent year on year in 2015, with 14,52 new homes.
Barratt is expected to publish figures showing a similar increase next week.
Chief executive of Taylor Wimpey Pete Redfern said: "We have delivered a strong trading performance in 2015, in a positive housing market, building more homes than at any point in the last six years and delivering a record operating profit margin of over 20 per cent."
