A new mixed-use development is set to to take place in Northamptonshire, after developer Ashfield Land bought a 30-acre plot next to the Rushden Lakes project.
The new site will be used for a mixture of office, retail, leisure and industrial purposes if Ashfield is successful with its planning application later this year.
Located next to the A45 as well as Rushden Lakes, the site is one Ashton hopes will prove very attractive to potential occupants and director of the firm Nick Jones said expressions of interest have already been received.
"We look forward to working with the Local Authority to deliver a development that not only encourages retention and expansion of existing local businesses, but also creates further employment opportunities," he said.
New construction jobs may be taken up by those who are currently engaged in building the Rushden Lakes development, which includes 30 acres of built-on land with shops and leisure space, plus 214 acres of land covered by the lakes and woodland, featuring paths and cycleways.
