A former office building in Dudley is to be converted into apartments, after previous plans to demolish it and turn it into a supermarket were abandoned.
Falcon House has been bought by Black Country Properties, which will turn the eight-floor building into 141 one and two-bedroom apartments.
The firm's chief executive Arran Bailey told Construction Enquirer: "The local area has been in need of new housing developments, and we are excited to play a big part in the area's regeneration."
He added that by breathing life into an old building and attracting young professionals, the project will give the town a big boost.
It is the second residential project announced in the Black Country so far this year involving the re-use of an existing building that has taken advantage of an abandoned supermarket plan.
The Homes and Communities Agency recently acquired the old Wolverhampton Royal Hospital site for housing after Tesco pulled the plug on a proposed flagship store.
