S&R Construction Ltd adopt Construction Accounting Software
S & R Construction is a family-owned company based in the West Midlands having been established in 1998. With a reputation for delivering high-quality operations in a safe working environment, S&R work in the private and public sectors to provide affordable and sustainable gas, water and electricity mains solutions and services.
In the past, S&R were using Excel spreadsheets to handle their construction processes alongside Sage 50. They found that spreadsheets were becoming extremely overbearing because:
- It was becoming harder and harder to measure the true financial success of projects due to the sheer number of spreadsheets.
- Tracking plant was becoming a full-time job for staff to make sure they don’t go over budget, and in some cases, there were two members of staff tracking plant full time.
- Couldn’t produce live reports to measure the status of projects and financials.
S&R needed a solution which combated these spreadsheet woes, along with providing them access to the ability to:
- Raise purchase orders through a system that is linked to their Sage accounts to avoid duplication and to provide visibility of committed costs.
- Improve the efficiency of raising invoices as they are currently manually printed and filed away as manual documents.
Therefore, S&R Construction LTD entered the market looking for the perfect solution to match their objectives.
Soon after entering the market, S&R discovered Eque2. An online demonstration was shortly arranged to view our construction-specific accounting software, Construct for Sage.
During the demo, S&R saw how Construct would remove the need for spreadsheets entirely with its direct integration into Sage 50 accounts ensuring accuracy across their data and removing risks of duplication.
S&R saw how they could track the true impact of plant costs on their financials. Construct’s plant hire feature would allow them to track their plant effectively so that it isn’t left on site longer than necessary. This is done through automated alerts and reports warning you of potential overcharges.
They also saw how they could report on any aspect of their jobs in real-time, including applications, retentions, work in progress (WIP) and plant hire.
S&R also viewed the Purchase Order Mobile App which would allow them to raise purchase orders from anywhere including on-site and track them against budgets to ensure they don’t overspend.
After the demonstration, S&R Construction LTD purchased Construct Cloud, the Approvals Module and the Purchase Order Mobile App.
Waitings LTD take on Construct for Sage
Founded in 1970 by Mr and Mrs Waitings, Waitings LTD has steadily grown into one of the UK's leading civil engineering & plant hire contractors over the last 50 years. Based in Cumbria in the Northwest, Waitings operates their services in the water, wind and waste sectors.
Before Eque2, Waitings were using Sage 50, Sage Job Costing and Excel spreadsheets. With Sage Job Costing becoming unsupported and the overbearing nature of spreadsheets, Waitings needed a new system.
In the search for a new solution, Waitings wanted a solution that:
- Had all the functionality of Sage Job Costing and more.
- Integrated seamlessly into their Sage 50 accounts.
- Managed their buying processes, replacing their current excel processes for procurement.
- Replaced their current time-consuming reporting methods with instantaneous, accurate live reporting.
- Improved their current subcontractor management processes including how they verify their subcontractors’ CSCS and Insurance
- Granted visibility on their existing applications for payments and the ability to track outstanding retentions held by or against them.
After entering the market and discovering Eque2, an online demonstration was arranged where Waitings saw all of their current spreadsheet processes could be replaced and completed more efficiently and accurately with construction-specific software.
With Construct for Sage, Waitings saw how they could raise their purchase orders and reconcile them against existing invoices to ensure they don’t exceed their budget.
Waitings saw how they could monitor the progress of all their projects in real time using Construct’s advanced reporting functionality which would grant them total visibility across all their financials.
Waitings will also now be able to verify their subcontractor's CIS through its integrated HMRC portal.
Finally, with the mobile Timesheets app, they saw how their employees could enter in their hours worked allowing time sheets to be transferred to Construct for Sage in real-time, reducing paper job sheets and increasing the accuracy of your financials.
After the demo, Waitings LTD purchased Construct for Sage Accounts alongside the Mobile Timesheets app.
