Heart of Midlothian Football club has submitted a planning application for a new £12 million stand at its Tynecastle home.
The Edinburgh-based club wants to increase its stadium capacity to 20,000 by the start of the 2017-18 season, with the new stand having UEFA-standard player and media facilities that will be required for the ground to host future European ties.
In addition, there will be a rooftop restaurant with views over the centre of Edinburgh.
The club submitted its pre-application notice to Edinburgh City Council in March, and now hopes to start construction next year.
Under ambitious multi-millionaire chair Ann Budge, the club has seen its fortunes improve recently. Promotion from the Championships to the Scottish Premier League two years ago was followed by last year's impressive third-placed finish.
However, the club will need to keep progressing now Rangers have returned to the top flight, with the Glasgow side having a much larger stadium and support base.
