The site of a former vinyl factory in west London is to be transformed in a new residential regeneration project.
Interserve has been awarded the £10 million contract for the latest phase of the Old Vinyl Factory project in Hayes, which will see it working with developer HUB to build 189 homes for rent, Construction Enquirer reports.
The development will be called The Material Store and will benefit from improved transport links coming to the area, with a Crossrail connection from 2017.
Development director at HUB Steve Sanham said: "The Material Store will be one of the first schemes designed for renters in Hayes, on a site that boasts a colourful history involving some of the Britain's biggest musical acts."
Interserve's managing director of UK construction Ian Renhard called the project "one of the most exciting residential schemes in London at the moment".
The Hayes and Harlington Crossrail station will involve an upgrade of the existing mainline station, with extended platforms to which there will be step free access aided by a new footbridge.
