A new windfarm connection project in the Scottish Highlands will create 120 new jobs at its peak.
Balfour Beatty will be working to connect the Bhlaraidh and Beinneun Wind Farms to the national grid on behalf of Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission.
The project will see 7.5km of cables laid underground and 21km of overhead cable being refurbished, while a new substation will be built, two more revamped and a fourth connected in the Fort Augustus area.
Work will commence next month and is due to be finished in spring 2017. with the windfarms having the capacity to power 90,000 homes.
Manager of major customer connection projects at SHE Transmission Keith Inglis said the installation of a "a new and innovative overhead line conductor" to a tight deadline was a "challenging and exciting" task for Balfour.
The great glen area around Fort Augustus is a prime site for windfarms, as it is not too close to either of Scotland's national parks, meaning plans will not suffer the same fate as the Allt Duine plan just outside the Cairngorms last year.
