The latest housing development to get the green light in the Nine Elms regeneration project in London is to commence construction this autumn.
Bellway Homes and developer L&Q are working on the joint venture in Battersea, where 357 new homes for sale or shared ownership will now be built after planning permission was granted by Wandsworth Council.
Located along the South Bank of the Thames, the Nine Elms project is set to see thousands of new homes being built alongside commercial and residential properties, with thousands of construction jobs being created.
Bellway is already involved in a 510-home project in Vauxhall.
Managing director of Bellway Homes Thames Gateway division Ian Gorst said: "We are confident the new development will become an integral part of the growing neighbourhood and open up Battersea as an exciting place to live."
Covering 227 hectares, Nine Elms is split between the boroughs of Wandsworth and Lambeth, with the area set to be linked up to the Tube network via a Northern Line extension with two new stations.
