Hundreds of construction jobs could be created if planning permission is granted for a new 32-storey office block in London.
British Land wants to construct the skyscraper at 2 and 3 Finsbury Avenue Square in the City, replacing the existing 2 Finsbury Avenue Square building, which was constructed in the 1980s but is now set to be demolished after failing to be listed.
Both the old building and the prospective new one have been designed by architects Arup, with the proposed skyscraper set to be 154 m (505 ft) tall, with 550,000 sq ft of floorspace.
The ground floor will have a shopping arcade with a walkway link to Old Street and Sun Street, while there will also be a rooftop restaurant accessible by external lifts.
British Land have installed restaurants in several of their London skyscrapers, with the company recently agreeing a deal with restaurateur Leonid Shutov to open an establishment in the Leadenhall Building.
