Planning permission has been sought for a quadruple skyscraper cluster in central Manchester, which would include the tallest building in the city.
The buildings, ranging from 658 ft to 399 ft in height, would contain 1,400 apartments and developer QC Developments has proposed the buildings for a site close to Deansgate Station and the River Medlock.
Hundreds of construction jobs would be created if permission is given, with the project expected to be complete by 2020.
The tallest building in Manchester at present is the Beetham Tower, which was designed by architect Ian Simpson, whose Simpson Haugh firm is behind this latest plan.
It is one of a number of skyscrapers planned for the city centre, mostly designed for residential or hotel purposes.
Others include Allied London's plans for a vertical village of up to six towers in the St John's area by the banks of the River Irwell, with the tallest rising to 50 storeys.
