New jobs and modern apprenticeships will be created through a pair of joint ventures agreed between Scottish Water and its partners as it continues its 2015-2021 investment programme.
The company has agreed one joint venture with Atkins and RPS - called ARC - and another called m2, which comprises MWH and Mott McDonald.
All four companies offer technical and consultancy skills and will be involved in helping Scottish Water implement its investment programme, through feasibility studies, modelling, project management and the design and development of solutions.
In addition to the jobs created by the investment work, the projects will also create some modern apprenticeships.
The contracts are worth a total of £120 million and Scottish Water has an option to extend the joint ventures until 2027.
Director of customer service planning at Scottish Water Simon Parsons said: "The new investment programme will help support vital employment in the Scottish economy while enabling Scottish Water to build on the significant improvements made to water and waste water services in recent years."
Examples of investment already being undertaken by Scottish Water capitalise include pipe replacement work now underway in Angus around Lethnot and Bridgend.
