Plans have been unveiled for a massive redevelopment of Swansea city centre, with work to be focused on two sites.
Hundreds of jobs could be created by the project, with construction starting as early as next year and a partnership of Rivington Land and Acme managing the work on two large sites.
Plans include a tall residential building that could rival the Meridian Tower as the loftiest structure in the city, as well as a new indoor arena for concerts and sporting events.
Shops, restaurants, cafes and a hydro-tub with a large aquarium are also included in the plans, which could help substantially boost tourism numbers.
Partner at Trebor Developments Mark Wright said: "Sites of this scale with such close proximity to both the beach and the city centre are few and far between, and this site offers a hugely exciting opportunity."
The 351 ft Meridian Tower has been the tallest building in Wales since 2009, but Cardiff is set to regain the title with Developer and builder Watkins Jones recently applying to build a 42-storey skyscraper in the city centre.
