Bournemouth University has unveiled plans for a major building project worth £100 million.
The university wants to build major new buildings at the Lansdowne and Talbot sites, with the former featuring the Poole gateway building for the Media and Communication, Management, and Science and Technology faculties.
At the Lansdowne site there will be a gateway building for the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences, as well as a new bus hub on the campus and the construction of a new link road.
In addition, new student accommodation with 550 beds has been lined up for the Lansdowne site.
The plans have gone out for public consultation and if approved, work will start next year and be completed in 2019, creating hundreds of construction jobs.
University vice chancellor Professor John Vinney said: "Our proposed new developments are key to helping us achieve our vision of providing world class facilities for a world class university."
Once an arts college, the university is now ranked in the top 200 in the world, a fact Professor Vinney said is a good reason for it to look to do even better in the years ahead.
