Hundreds of construction jobs are set to be created across Wales as part of a £12.8 million project launched by the Welsh Assembly government.
Ministers in Cardiff Bay are allocating the cash to local authorities in Anglesey, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Swansea, Torfaen and Wrexham.
Over 400 jobs and 50 apprenticeships will be created by the work, which will lead to over 220 new homes being built and an economic boost for each of the 12 centres that receive improvements.
Projects include the building of 16 two-bedroom flats in Holyhead, an employment hub on the Kingsway in Swansea and a family entertainment zone in Rhyl.
Minister for communities and tackling poverty Lesley Griffiths said: "As well as improving important local services, the funding will create hundreds of jobs and traineeships and boost Wales' housing supply."
Earlier this week, the Welsh government announced a £29 million funding package for transport schemes, which will create many more jobs.
This investment will include the £5.6 million Morfa Distributor Road in Swansea.
