The business has a turnover of €40m, employs over 100 people and has recently expanded into the UK market, with big plans for the future.
We spoke to Seán O’Reilly, Chief Financial Officer at McKeon Group, to see how he landed on EVision as the right software solution for the company.
The search for a new system
McKeon Group was on the search for a new software system that would meet its evolving needs as it continued to grow. The business had been relying on an archaic system that users were finding clunky and difficult to navigate. In short, it was no longer fit for purpose.
Why EVision was the answer
After considering several ERP solutions including Coins and RedSky, McKeon Group’s decision to select Eque2’s construction ERP software, EVision, came down to several factors. Seán said: “We felt that EVision had the best integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions when compared to other suppliers. We were particularly keen to ensure Power BI could be integrated seamlessly as the team uses this product frequently.”
Moving from a system that wasn’t very user-friendly, McKeon Group also appreciated the look, feel and functionality of EVision, which enabled them to respond to the team’s need for a more modern, easy-to-navigate system which would ultimately drive efficiency and productivity.
The final step in cloud migration
With all other systems in the business being cloud-based, McKeon Group didn’t want to be limited by on-premise software. The fact that EVision is 100% cloud-based was a key factor when assessing its suitability for the company. Seán explained: “Working with people nationally and internationally, we wanted to ensure that the information they needed could be accessed from anywhere on any device. Using a cloud-based system, better connects our on-site and remote staff, preventing data silos and allowing for a seamless login process.”
All data within EVision exists in a single database, meaning employees can access and report on real-time project information at their convenience.
Realising the benefits
Since implementing EVision, McKeon Group has utilised its range of features and reaped the rewards, aiding their company strategy to modernise and grow the business.
For example, the company has been able to improve the subcontractor management process within EVision, from enquiry through to payment, improving the flow of information and simplifying Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) compliance. Working with contractors across the globe, McKeon Group has also found it easy to transition and remain CIS compliant using the multi-currency feature within EVision.
EVison also integrates with Eque2’s MiraclePay payroll solution which means McKeon Group has benefited from having one integrated piece of software to manage multiple elements of the business and streamline processes.
The business also added Conitinia Document Capture to its offering, which is an end-to-end solution built to import, register and archive documents directly into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This has enabled the team to be more efficient when working remotely and automate, scan and match documents such as POs and invoices to reduce the time staff spend on admin tasks.
